1. Scope
This policy explains how Local PDF Tools (the “Extension”) handles information when you use the Chrome extension and its public website. The Extension is provided by the publisher identified on its Chrome Web Store listing (“we”, “us”, or “our”).
2. PDF files and local processing
PDFs you select, along with their page contents, are processed in your browser. The Extension does not upload PDF files or generated documents to our servers for conversion, storage, or review. Downloads are created locally on your device.
3. Information we process
- Account information. If you sign in, we process your email address and authentication data through Supabase. Google sign-in may provide your Google account email and basic profile details.
- License and purchase checks. When you use Pro features, we send your account email and product identifier to our Supabase backend to check subscription status. If you continue to checkout, Stripe receives the information required for payment and checkout.
- Extension preferences. The Extension stores a small window identifier and window-size preference in Chrome storage so the tool can reopen and remember its layout. These values stay in your Chrome profile.
- Technical logs. Authentication and license requests may generate operational logs (such as request time, status, and account/extension identifiers) in the systems that provide these services. We do not use the Extension to build an advertising profile.
4. How information is used
We use information to authenticate you, maintain sessions, verify Pro access, process payments you initiate, remember Extension preferences, prevent abuse, and keep the service secure and reliable. We do not sell your personal information.
5. Sharing and service providers
We share information only as needed with service providers that support authentication, database hosting, subscription checks, and payment checkout, including Supabase, Google (when you choose Google sign-in), and Stripe (when you open checkout). Those providers process information under their own privacy policies. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
6. Retention and deletion
We retain account and transaction-related information for as long as needed to provide the service, verify purchases, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. You can sign out at any time. To request account-data access or deletion, contact us using the support contact on the Chrome Web Store listing; we may need to verify your request.
7. Your choices
You can use the core PDF tools without creating an account. You can remove the Extension to delete its Chrome-managed local storage, subject to Chrome’s own backup or sync behavior. You may decline optional sign-in and checkout flows.
8. Children’s privacy
The Extension is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Extension or its services change. The effective date above indicates the latest version. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
10. Contact
For privacy questions or requests, use the support contact listed for Local PDF Tools on the Chrome Web Store.
